Our Story
In 2016, after thriving in the vibrant heart of Manhattan for more than 30 years as an architect and a journalist, we embarked on a transformative journey to the serene landscapes of the Hudson Valley. Our dream was simple: to live on a farm that not only served as a haven but also contributed to the sustenance of others. The land we acquired had been left untended for half a century, abandoned by a farmer of a bygone era. We spent several years preparing the land for what would become Once Munsee Orchard. The terrain turns out to be well-suited for an orchard. The gentle slopes of our newfound haven extend gracefully to a small river, a topography conducive to air drainage. This natural design serves as a shield against the perils of late spring chills, nurturing an ideal setting for our orchard.
Our story is one of growth, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence. As we look ahead, we are committed to becoming a source of high-quality fruit and a symbol of sustainable farming practices. We hope to inspire others to cultivate their dreams, just as we have here at Once Munsee Orchard.

About Once Munsee Orchard
Establishing roots in 2019, Once Munsee is a young orchard that witnessed its inaugural commercial harvest in 2021. Today, our orchard thrives with 43,000 high-density trees, strategically planted to ensure a bountiful harvest. From Gala Wildfires to Aztec Fujis, we nurture eight distinct types of apples, each offering a unique taste experience. Our apples, meticulously grown to perfection, are exclusively available to wholesale buyers, including supermarkets, retailers, and institutional purchasers.
